The Three Graces, 2023
illustration class, prompt: illustrate the three graces
I wanted to make something very unique and original as the Three Graces is a well done subject. I decided to do a Gustav Klimt inspired take, using 2D repetitive shapes and gold.
The Three Graces in Greek mythology are born of Zeus and a Sea Nymph and often attend to Aphrodite. Since their mother was a sea nymph I decided to make them look like nymphs themselves. I used Lighting, fish, droplets and waves to represent their parentage. I used roses, breasts and the pelvic triangle to represent Aphrodite.
